One of the biggest challenges the team faced, according to technical director Peter Dalton, was "staying true to the atmosphere and environment." A lot of the base geometry was reused from the original, and then they built off of that to create a "larger, more filled out world." The team expresses that they don't see this project as a remaster, but instead a full remake "from the ground up." I know of few other games that can bring so much life to a bleak world, and inspire both fear and awe while battling colossal beasts.
